Roman Polanski
Roman Polanski, after being granted bail, will spend his house arrest at the luxury Swiss ski resort in Gstaad. Although, the filmmaker will be let out of jail as soon as possible, authorities have kept the release date secret to avoid any media attention.

The release statement issued by the Swiss justice department says Polanski will be released from custody as soon as bail has been transferred, ID and travel documents have been lodged, and the electronic monitoring system has been installed and tested.

The Swiss government is yet to decide if Polanski should be extradited to the US.

Polanski was arrested in September on an international warrant for having illegal intercourse with a minor in the late 1970s. The director was pleaded guilty but fled from US to France in 1978 before he could be sentenced.

Polanski's sister-in-law, Mathilde Seigner, is overjoyed by the news, "I am very happy and relieved. We're going to drink a nice glass of champagne and raise a toast together."

The Swiss government is yet to decide if Polanski should be extradited to the US.
