New Delhi : Many pet lovers were delighted to attend the first of its kind mass wedding of dogs here on Saturday
The special ceremony was organized here at the Ansal Plaza's amphitheatre. The mass wedding by hosted by Ansal Plaza to help pet lovers find a mate for their pet dogs.
Described to be the first mass wedding of dogs in India, the venue witnessed 500 dogs, clad in snazzy bridal outfits, and bond with to be life partners.
"I really liked this whole concept, it''s really nice and novel idea, things like this happen in western countries but in India I think it''s first of its kind. I have a Labrador but it''s at my home. It this event is organised next year, I am definitely going to participate in this show," said, Liana, visitor.
Over 400 dogs owners registered their pets for the matrimony.
Following the stated procedure, dog owners sent the photographs of their pets and mall officials provided a select choice of the mates to the owners and after speaking to the pets'' owners, mates were finalised.

"We are extremely happy that today dogs got married, my dog is a lhasa aphso and today I have got another Lhasa aphso for her, it seems they both are completely in love. In fact it was a love at first sight for both of them," said Mrs. Singh, one of the dog owners at the event.
There were elaborate arrangements done for the first of its kind dog-wedding taking place in India. During the event wedding musicians, Mandap, flower arrangement and the cake, perfected the ambience and spread smiles all across the mall.
Awards like most well dressed dog, best dog and other features were some of the other attractions for the onlookers.
