Good Sleep

The very thought of a good night's sleep is blissful. Everybody loves to retire in their comfy bed, tucked cozily under the quilts with sleep overpowering them after a long day's work. But does everyone enjoy the bliss of sleep? Here are a few tips to woo sleep itself to sing a lullaby for you.

  • Retire to bed only when you are sleepy. This will reduce the time you are awake on the bed twisting and turning. The very thought that you are not getting sleep itself will put sleep away.
  • A relaxed reading can invite sleep very easily. If you do not have the habit of reading you can commence by reading comics or magazines.
  • Avoid taking naps during the day. If you feel very sleepy, sleep for less than an hour during the afternoons.
  • Adhere to a particular timing to go to bed.
  • Listening to soft music can help in slowing down the pace of your mind that in turn can induce sleep.
  • Avoid bright lights during your bedtime as it can make you fresh.
  • Take a good hot water bath before going to bed. This can bring about sleep soon.
  • Avoid exercising during bedtime as this may make you fresh.
  • Make sure your bed is properly made and is comfortable before going to bed.
  • Have a light snack before going to sleep.
  • It is very important to avoid taking caffeine during bedtime as they can drive sleep away. Instead take a glass of warm milk.
  • Sleep on your back and always sleep in a well-ventilated room.
  • Avoid having illuminated wall clocks in your bedroom.

So try these steps to banish insomnia and to enjoy a blissful sleep.
