Born in a family of famous legendary actors Nargis and Sunil Dutt, Sanjay has not let any stone unturned in the phase of acting. From the sensational drama to rib tickling performance in Lage Raho Munnabhai, he has a taste of all the phase of acting in Bollywood. This macho man with the big lion tattoo on his arm has undergone the ups and downs of his life with a great vigor and challenge.
A Leo born on 29 July 1959 is one among the top ten lists of heroes in Bollywood. But his personal life has all the tragedies one could dig up. In his early life he was addicted to drugs. Then he lost his mother a few weeks before his first film was to be released (Nargis died of pancreatic cancer). Due to his addiction he was sent to a rehabilitation center in Texas. He even suffered from a collapsed lung after reaching New York. After his return he started working in movies again, he married Richa Sharma. She was an angel to him who nursed him back from lung injury. She didn't promise to stay for a long time, after their first child Trishala, she died of cancer. He even lost the battle of custody of his daughter to his in-laws. This was not the end, as he was charged for his alleged involvement in 1993 Mumbai bombings. He was put behind the bars for 18 months. After his release he married Rhea Pillai a socialite but, the marriage did not last and the couple divorced in 2005. The misery stricken actor had to undergo another loss when his father Sunil Dutt died in May 2005.
With the griefs and losses throughout his life, Sanjay has never let his friends or family down. He has stretched forward the loving hand of his father to his sister Priya who is a Lok Sabha MP, first by ensuring her victory in the election and now in inaugurating Priya's official website which will help common men to get in touch with the right person to solve their issues. He is always there for his friends in times of trouble.
Sanjay was going around with his Afghani girlfriend Nadia, whom he proposed for marriage this September in his favourite jaunt 'Poisson' in Mumbai, when he was drunk. The whole scenario was played on National TV. But the latest rumor says that they have split and they have no plans of marriage. Sanjay's attention is now on his teenage daughter Trishala, whom he is missing terribly and is planning to get her down to Mumbai at the earliest.
Of late Sanjay Dutt has been keeping a low profile after he was found guilty under the Arms Act, for possessing an AK-56 rifle, 9mm pistol, and hand grenades. The minimum punishment under the section he has been convicted is five years and maximum ten years.
While the situation could have been worse, the actor was blessed enough as he was acquitted under the TADA (P) Act for his role in 1993 bomb blasts case by a special court.
